Sex & Cancer Conference Call - TONIGHT!

Tools for Caring Health Day - August 24th

On August 24th, please join Mautner Project & Tools for Caring staff for a free Health Day at HIPS (1309 Rhode Island Ave., NE #2B Washington, DC 20018). The event will be held from 12-4 p.m. and will include free screenings for STIs, HIV, and a clinical breast exam and mammography exam sign up. There will also be free food along with fun trivia games about breast and sexual health. This event is for all ages and anyone is welcome to attend.

Our Tools for Caring program helps to increase access to breast cancer screening and breast cancer care available to lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals in Washington, DC, Prince George's County, and Arlington, VA.

Friendraising Dinner Parties in August & September - Sign up Now!

"Friendraising" Dinner Parties are a fun way to educate and introduce people in your life to Mautner Proejct!

  • Increase Mautner Project's visibility
  • Raise needed funds to support Mautner Project's work
  • Gently raise awareness about health issues affecting the lesbian/bisexual/trans community and what can be done to help

Who: Invite anywhere from 4 to 40 guests. Neighbors, co-workers, family and friends -- the more the merrier! Encourage folks to invite their partners and friends.

When: Any time!

Where: Your place!

How: You provide a dinner and beverages of your choice, and host the event in your home. When you invite your guests, please let them know this is a Mautner Project Friendraising Event and you are asking everyone who attends to make a small contribution to the organization. Mautner staff will glady draft an invitation for you, if you wish. You decide what to ask your guests to contribute: $25? $50? $100? More? It's up to you. If you like, we will announce your participation on the Mautner Project website.

The National Center for Transgender Equity released a new resource that explains what services Medicare benefits offers transgender patients and what steps to take if coverage is denied. 2012 Gala Tickets Now on Sale!

Mautner Project's 2012 Gala Over The Rainbow will be held on Saturday March 17, 2025 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. It is St. Patrick's Day, so you may find luck under the rainbow! Buy your reduced price ticket(s) now! (Reduced price tickets are $200 if purchased on or before

The Mautner Project Gala is one of the most anticipated events on the LGBT community calendar and is Washington's Premier Women's Event. The Gala is Mautner Project's largest fundraising event of the year, providing the funds needed to continue our work in the community.

Over the Rainbow features Mautner's famous live and silent auctions, a cocktail reception and gourmet dinner. Guests will enjoy the evening's headline entertainment with Viki Dee, DJ jame' foks, and the Electric Rainbow Dance Party!


Mautner Project is Seeking Fall Interns!

We are looking for interns who are commited to advocacy for LGBT and women's health issues. Applicants must also possess strong organizational skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. For an internship with client services, a strong driving record and access to a car are a plus! We Will Remember Christina Santiago

Mautner Project mourns the passing of our colleague Christina Santiago of Howard Brown Health Center (HBHC) in Chicago who was killed in a tragic accident. Christina was a champion for women's health and was a driving force in the expansion of HBHC's women's health services division.

We send our sincere condolences to our friends at Howard Brown Health Center and to Christina's loved ones.

Zumbathon for Nueva Vida on September 17

Join Nueva Vida for their first annual ZUMBATHON® Fundraiser & EXPO on September 17 from 8 a.m to 1 p.m. at the Maret School (3000 Cathedral Ave. NW, WDC 20008). Your participation in the Expo is an opportunity to communicate your message to the fastest growing community in the nation and show that you care for their healthy future.
