Quick Quiz

Do you really know your patients?

In a study of lesbian women, 60% stated that while they had disclosed their sexual orientation to their parents, only 31% had come out to their healthcare provider. The term “lesbian” encompasses a diverse population of women that come from different backgrounds, ethnicities, class, etc. You cannot tell if a woman partners with another woman just by looking at her.

To provide the best care possible, clinicians must create an environment of safety that facilitates the open communication of all the issues that effect and affect the health and well-being of the client being served
