Step-by-step guide for building a local lesbian health organization
The National Lesbian & Feminist Health Coalition (NLFHC) and the Mautner Project developed this manual in an effort to provide technical assistance to lesbians and feminists throughout the country who wish to establish a program assisting or advocating for women with cancer and other illnesses.
Members of the NLFHC are involved in a variety of programs that provide services to women around health issues, often chronic and/or life-threatening illnesses. Some are advocacy-only organizations; other provide direct services to women with cancer and their families; while still others provide referrals. The intent of compiling the various experiences of Coalition members is to provide you with an array of information you can apply to your particular situation.
