Lesbians themselves are often uninformed about the health needs and issues specific to women who partner with women.  The healthcare and lesbian communities both need to be educated about important health issues, including the need for: cervical and breast cancer screening, STDs/STIs & HIV prevention, smoking cessation, mental health & wellness, and further research on lesbian health status & risks.  Lesbians deserve the same quality care as everyone else.  Plus, providing more culturally competent care benefits your business as well as your patients!
