Moving

We're Moving!

We're moving this weekend! We need volunteers - and if you'd like to help, contact Crystal at 703.593.4274 or cfoley@mautnerproject.org!

As of June 1st, the Mautner Project will be located at:
1875 Connecticut Ave, NW
Suite 710
Washington, DC 20009

The new office is just north of Dupont Circle, and convenient to the Red Line at that stop. Our phone number, website, and email addresses will remain the same. We look forward to seeing you! We were happy for the opportunity to donate some of our used furniture to the following very deserving organizations:

  • CentroNia, a nonprofit that educates children and youth and strengthens families in a bilingual, multicultural community through a Learning Center, Family/Community Development, a Professional Development Academy, and a DC Bilingual Public Charter School;
  • Sharpe Health School, a DC public school for students with special needs; and
  • Polaris Project, a nonprofit organization that provides a comprehensive and community-based approach to combating human trafficking and modern-day slavery.

Susan G. Komen

Thank You, Susan G. Komen for the Cure!
Mautner Project has received a substantial two-year capacity-building grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure. This grant will allow us to sustain and build our programs, including expanded capacity for our direct services for clients in DC and

their families, as well as to improve our education and communication efforts by upgrading our website, and improving our database systems. We are gratified by the confidence Susan G. Komen for the Cure has expressed in our organization, and by its understanding of the need for specific programming for lesbian, bisexual, and transgender women.

Mautner Project Partners with Project WISH!

The Mautner Project and Project WISH are partnering to increase access to No Cost:

  • Annual mammograms
  • Clinical breast exams
  • Pap tests and pelvic exams
  • transportation to and from exams (for women with limited resources)

If you are a woman between ages 40-64 with limited or no health insurance, please call D. Magrini at 202-332-5536 for more information. Please forward to anyone who might be interested! Spread the word.

The Mautner Project improves the health of lesbians, bisexual, and transgender women who partner with women, and their families, through advocacy, education, research, and direct service. We envision a healthcare system that is guided by social justice and responsive to the needs of all people.

Young Women's Breast Cancer Project at Washington University is working hard to identify the genetic factors which distinguish breast cancer in younger women compared to older women. If you were diagnosed with invasive breast cancer at or before the age of forty, you may be able to help - wherever you live! Click here to learn more.
