Before she died of cancer at the age of 44, Mary-Helen Mautner asked her partner Susan Hester to create an organization to help other lesbians and their loved ones meet the challenges of life-threatening illness. Susan promised to make Mary-Helen’s dream a reality – and the Mautner Project is a result of that promise.

Every time Mautner Project staff and volunteers provide services and support to our sisters in need, we are Keeping the Promise that Susan made to Mary-Helen.

Our Keeping the Promise Circle Members help make this possible by contributing a tax-deductible donation of $1,200 or more each year in non-event support.

Why a $1200 target? It costs Mautner Project approximately $1200 to serve one client facing cancer for six months. This does not include the time, labor, transportation and love contributed by volunteers.

	Keep the Promise at the Orange level: $100 per month - $1200 per year
	Keep the Promise at the Red level: $125 per month - $1500 per year
	Keep the Promise at the Green level: $150 per month - $1800 per year
